As I think sometimes pictures are more effective to grab people’s attention in compare to standard news page where these is too much text and just small images to support that particular news. This designer has used the same concept but approached it differently; he has used short headlines that are categorised in different colours. The site is new so I don’t know how popular it is bur its great work of flash and RSS feed. But I can be using RSS feed to inform student of any important news in regards to their course, e.g guest lecturer, cancelled lecture, extended deadlines. I think its easier for students to register to RSS feed as its easier to access, the reason behind this is simply students don’t check their university portal that often.
